ABOUT THE EVENT
The Theatre Royal Castlemaine in consultation with the local high school’s diversity group, is presenting THE GLITTERING GOLDFIELDS QUEER FORMAL. It will be an all-things-rainbow and all-things-glitter event for people aged 12-20 years living in the goldfields region and beyond. The event will provide a safe environment for queer youth and their friends to have a fun night out. There will be food, DJs, performers and a dance comp. And did we mention the glitter? There will be glitter. Like, a lot of glitter.
The formal will be supervised by a passionate and welcoming team of adult volunteers (known affectionately as THE GOLDFIELDS GUARDIANS).
This event is strictly for people aged 12 – 20 years old. If you are 21 or over you must seek pre authorisation before entering our events. Personal carers welcome.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY AKA 'THE GOLDEN RULES'
Please read the conditions of entry and code of conduct for the event HERE
ENTRY IS SUBJECT TO THIS CODE OF CONDUCT.
If you can get dropped off and picked up from the event - that would be great! If your parents and guardians want to stick around, they can hang out in the Theatre Royal’s front bar or Bistro Lola, or one of the other wonderful establishments in town.
TRAINS: Trains arrive into Castlemaine Station from Macedon and Bendigo (arrivin into Castlemaine at 4.48pm on Sat 9 Dec). Trains depart Castlemaine Station for Bendigo 9.49pm + 10.49pm, and depart for Macedon at 9.49pm. Please check the VLINE website for your relevant train times and for service updates.
Our team will be at Castlemaine Station to meet anyone arriving at 4.48pm, and escort you to the theatre. You won’t be able to miss them, they will be sparkly! We’ll also arrange to escort you back to the station for the 9.49pm and 10.49pm services (optional).
